Seminar Content
This course aims to provide you with a broad understanding of strategic and financial M&A transactions by making use of an interactive mix of fundamental basics, numerous real-life examples and class discussions of many up-to-date M&A mini case examples. You will gain fundamental knowledge about all relevant elements constituting international M&A transactions in theory as well as in real-life and thus be able to judge strategic deals from an interdisciplinary management and financial transactions from a Private Equity perspective.
Content-wise, the course is divided in three parts:
- M&A MARKET (Transaction types, corporate governance & M&A, regulatory and financial market environment)
- M&A PROCESS (Strategic reasons for M&A deal making, typical steps in M&A processes)
- M&A FINANCE (Valuation, pricing and financing of M&A transactions)
Seminar Structure
The seminar has a scope of 40 attendance hours (plus preparation and follow-up time) and takes place on the following dates:

21. - 23. February 2025
The seminar times are Fridays 6.00 pm - 9.15 pm and Saturday / Sunday 9 am - 5 pm.
The seminar will be held in English and in on-campus format at the BPS Schöneberg Campus.
Small group sizes guarantee an individual learning atmosphere and optimal supervision by the lecturers.
The seminar combines theory and practice in an optimal way. Professors, lecturers and external teaching staff of the Berlin MBA have hands-on management experience in leadership roles or have worked as consultants. The seminar styles of the classes encourage lively discussions and support rapid learning in subjects aligned with professional needs, and build on every students’ work experience.
Certificate
After completion of the seminar you will receive a certificate of attendance. Should you have successfully achieved the related module examination, you will receive a module certificate with a grade and proof of ECTS credit points.
Recognition
It is possible to have these ECTS credit points recognised within the MBA programme, provided that you fulfill the admission requirements. In this case the seminar fees already paid will be credited against the first instalment of the tuition fee.
Tuition Fee
The tuition fee amounts to 1.500 Euro (incl. materials).
For vocational further trainings, tuition fees are normally tax deductible. Travel and accommodation costs must be paid by the participants.
A recognition of the seminar as educational leave is usually possible.
